This museum is located almost directly across from the Arcispedale, in the former convent of the Oblate.
It was founded in Florence to contain the prehistoric collections present in Florence. The items are arranged on two floors, according to chronological and geographic criterion, beginning with the Florence region.
They represent the manifestations of human activity based first on a non-productive economy of hunting and gathering, then on a productive one based on agriculture, sheep farming, and metal work.
The evidence consists of stone instruments, bone, pottery, copper arms, bronze and artistic evidence accompanied by their respective human kinds, faunal and botanical specimens.
