Villa Il Poggiale is a sixteenth century private villa, currently converted to a family owned and run Dimora Storica -- Historical Residence - in San Casciano Val di Pesa, just 17 km from the center of Florence.

The property is surrounded by the familiar Chianti landscape: rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves. The building itself has a magnificent loggia, a Renaissance facade, traditional Tuscan gardens, outdoor swimming pool - open from June through September - with a wonderful view.

Accommodation reflects the owners' taste and extreme attention to detail, featuring antique furnishing, four-poster beds, original frescoes and beamed ceilings, eighteenth century painted doors, original Cotto Fiorentino floors.

The décor is lovely (silk or thick cotton tapestries, from an ancient Tuscan threadmill).
Bathrooms have been decorated with special care: they all have handmade tiles in pastel colors, while some of them have painted ceiling and walls.
In our library guests can enjoy a selection of DVD’s access to a computer with internet connection free of charge.
All rooms are equipped with TV satellite, telephone, computer plug, safe, air-conditioning, frigo-bar and breakfast tray.

The wellness center has been created to complete your stay among the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside with moments of relax and wellbeing. It has been specifically designed for Villa Il Poggiale and offers simple and efficient treatments with natural products from the Tuscan territory such as grapes, citrus fruits, olives, honey and essential oils.

A light lunch is served during the summer in the back garden overlooking the pool.

We have the pleasure to offer our guests the option to dine "at home".
Our menu will be based on the best of Tuscan tradition and the house recipes using local produce in season.
Dinner is available from April until the end of October.
