Watch the video about Leonardo's life:
We start from Via dei Gondi, where Leonardo moved from Vinci with his his father Pietro. He also lived, later on, in Santissima Annunziata: not far from Monna Lisa, and in via Martelli with the sculptor Gianfrancesco Rustici.
December 29th 1479 Leonardo was probably here in Piazza della Signoria, whatching the hanging of Giuliano de Medici's killer; he drew this sketch of that event the same moment.
Leonardo entered several time Palazzo Vecchio of course. He definetly spent more than one night here in 1503 painting the Battle of Anghiari fresco in the Salone dei Cinquecento; the big project failed and Vasari eventually covered it up.
In the Uffizi there are three of the first paintings of Leonardo: an angel in Verrocchio's Baptism of Christ, that was his master, the Annunciation and the unfinished Adoration of the Magi.
To end our journey we can not miss the Museo di Leonardo in Via de Servi that presents some of the biggest functioning machines of Leonardo, based on his drawings.
