This palazzo was built by Giuliano da Maiano (1458-69) and is also known as the “Palazzo della Congiura”, in reference to the conspiracy carried out by the Pazzi family against the Medici in 1478.
The contrast between the rustication of the ground floor and the smooth plaster of the two upper floors, embellished by elegant mullioned windows, is a significant piece of aristocratic domestic architecture of the 15th c. The courtyard in particular is exquisite.
