Here's a possible 1 day road map to see the most beautiful works of art in Florence: a city so small, but so intense!
Start your "renaissance" walk with a visit to the Academy Gallery, where the original copy of David by Michelangelo is found. You will quickly discover why it is the most famous statue in the world.
After visiting the Academy Gallery, walk towards the Cathedral, cross via Calzaiuoli, Florentine ‘s famous shopping destination, and arrive in Piazza Signoria (10 minute walk) where you'll find the Uffizi Gallery. A two hour visit is enough to fall in love with the paintings and elegant halls of the most important gallery in Florence.
A plate of pasta and a good glass of red wine will give you strength to continue the tour of the museums.
While visting around “Piazza della Signoria” take a jump to the Museum of the Bargello that includes the best of the Italian Renaissance sculpture.
After the Bargello, go towards the other bank of the Arno passing over the Ponte Vecchio. On the itinerary you're following the ancient route that the Medici did when returning to their residence in Palazzo Pitti. Within the residence of the Grand Duchy, visit the Palatina Gallery to admire the paintings by Raphael, Titian and Rubens.
Once out from Palazzo Pitti, have a rest on the sloping side walls of the squares. Many people love sitting here on the ground at sunset and relax with a drink in their hand. Now you’re just ready again to go through the square and arrive in Santo Spirito (5 minutes): paradise of economical good restaurants and inns! A tasty dinner awaits you!
