The original wooden carved door and the stone arch with the Franciscan’s coat of arms invite guests into the Hotel Rivoli.
The building, which dates back to the fifteenth century, was originally a Franciscan convent and was used to welcome visitors.
The building’s history is inscribed in its walls and reflects the hotel’s tradition in welcoming travellers.
The indoor patio is the core of the Franciscan’s life. It is surrounded by stone colonnades and is part of the convent cloister. They bear witness to the past and serve as a reminder of the Renaissance period in Florence. According to a historical survey, Benvenuto Cellini, the famous goldsmith and sculptor, lived in this building from 1540 to 1571.
